For the past week or so we have been talking about dinosaurs. To go along with our dinosaur theme I had students become paleontologist for the day. Students were given a blank fossil worksheet and instructed to color the background as if they actually found their fossils in the dirt. Next year I would like to use sheets of sandpaper for this activity. Students were then given glue and a handful of pasta. Students were instructed to piece together the pasta as a paleontologist would when he or she finds dinosaur bones. They had a blast doing this! They also came up with the name pastasaurus for this craft!
